Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on municipal vehicles, heavy equipment, and street infrastructure.
- Clear snow, ice, and debris from public roads, sidewalks, and parking lots during inclement weather.
- Operate heavy machinery, including front-end loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Inspect and maintain drainage systems, catch basins, and storm sewers to prevent flooding.
- Assist with street sweeping, pothole repair, and general landscape maintenance within city right-of-way.
- Respond to emergency service requests and public complaints regarding city infrastructure.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with OSHA safety standards and City policies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, construction, or general maintenance is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
