Responsibilities

  • Maintenance Operations: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on streets, sidewalks, storm drains, and park facilities to ensure public safety and accessibility.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy municipal equipment including backhoes, graders, sweepers, and dump trucks.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to weather-related emergencies, including snow and ice removal, flood control, and debris cleanup during severe weather events.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

  • Licensure: A valid Nebraska Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a significant plus.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Skills: Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to read blueprints or simple schematics.
  • Background: Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
