Responsibilities
- Perform General Maintenance: Execute routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of public infrastructure, including parks, streets, and buildings.
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely and efficiently operate various types of heavy equipment and hand tools required for the job.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency maintenance calls and public service requests promptly during inclement weather or critical situations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, supplies, and materials to ensure operational readiness.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety standards and city protocols to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and the public.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Experience: Prior experience in maintenance, construction, or labor-intensive work is preferred but not always mandatory for the right candidate.
- Driver's License: A valid, clean driver's license is required.
- Physical Stamina: Must be physically capable of performing heavy lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose simple mechanical issues and perform repairs independently.
