About the Role

In this role, you will perform a variety of manual labor tasks to maintain the city's infrastructure, including roadways, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities. You will work outdoors in all weather conditions and operate heavy equipment to ensure our community remains clean, safe, and accessible.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, alleys, and public right-of-way areas.
  • Operate and maintain heavy machinery and equipment, including backhoes, rollers, sweepers, and dump trucks.
  • Assist in the repair and maintenance of municipal facilities, including graffiti removal and basic repairs.
  • Maintain parks and recreational areas by planting trees, mowing lawns, and maintaining landscaping.
  • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and public service complaints in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and city policies while on duty.
  • Collaborate with other municipal departments to support community projects.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Nevada Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
  • Physical ability to perform heavy labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and working in extreme heat.
  • Experience with heavy equipment operation (e.g., backhoes, loaders) is highly preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and understand technical instructions and safety manuals.
