Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of public roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy machinery including graders, loaders, and asphalt pavers
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety regulations
- Train junior staff on equipment operation and safety protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public works or construction
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrake endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (experience with graders essential)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and occasional overtime
- Pass pre-employment physical and background check
