Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery (street sweepers, dump trucks, graders) for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs on city roads, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Respond to emergency service calls (e.g., stormwater management, pothole repairs)
- Document work activities using digital reporting systems and maintain equipment logs
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and municipal environmental regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Provide excellent customer service during public interactions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in civil engineering technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works, construction, or related field
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with airbrakes endorsement
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
- Proficiency with GPS and digital maintenance reporting systems
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and lift up to 50 lbs
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical examination
- Knowledge of Nevada municipal codes and DOT regulations
