Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including asphalt pavers, backhoes, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during inclement weather
- Conduct field inspections and document work progress using digital reporting tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Participate in community outreach events related to public works initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years public works experience
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Certification in equipment operation (e.g., CDL Class B preferred)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Familiarity with GIS mapping and digital work order systems
- Strong communication skills for public interactions
