Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment including trucks, tractors, and power tools for infrastructure projects
- Perform routine inspections and repairs of public facilities, roadways, and drainage systems
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations during field operations
- Document work activities, prepare maintenance reports, and maintain accurate equipment logs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on emergency response and storm recovery efforts
- Assist in public outreach initiatives regarding infrastructure improvements and community projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in civil technology or related field preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works, construction, or facility maintenance
- Valid Georgia Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with clean driving record
- Certification in OSHA safety standards and heavy equipment operation preferred
- Strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems and maintenance best practices
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and safety compliance
