Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research initiatives in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop scalable quantum processors
- Publish peer-reviewed research in Nature/Science journals and present at conferences
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants from NSF, DARPA, and industry partners
- Mentor PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers in quantum computing
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years quantum research experience
- Published work in top-tier journals on quantum algorithms or hardware
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Quil)
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- Proven ability to secure government and industry research funding
- Experience with superconducting qubits or trapped ion systems
