Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for cryptography optimization and molecular modeling
- Lead hardware prototyping initiatives in superconducting and photonic quantum systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- Collaborate with AI teams to create quantum-machine learning frameworks
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science journals and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers and secure $2M+ in NSF grants
- Partner with NASA and DOD on quantum-resistant security projects
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 5+ years hands-on experience with quantum hardware (IBM Rigetti, IonQ)
- Published research in top-tier quantum computing journals
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or Q# programming frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction codes (surface, color codes)
- Proven track record of securing government research funding
- Patent portfolio in quantum algorithms or hardware innovation
