Responsibilities
- Operate Heavy Machinery: Safely drive and operate backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and other heavy equipment as required for daily operations.
- Perform Manual Labor: Execute digging, trenching, asphalt paving, and concrete work to maintain city streets and sidewalks.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Assist in the repair and maintenance of traffic signs, guardrails, storm drains, and water mains.
- Seasonal Duties: Perform snow and ice removal operations during winter months to ensure public safety.
- Site Clean-up: Maintain a clean and safe work site by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Assist Projects: Support senior staff and engineers on various infrastructure improvement projects and public works initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or municipal public works is highly preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Class C Oklahoma Driver’s License required; Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of basic safety protocols and the ability to follow OSHA guidelines.
- Communication: Basic verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
