Responsibilities
- Calculate and process pension benefits for state employees accurately and timely.
- Provide expert consultation and customer service to retirees regarding their retirement packages.
- Conduct thorough data analysis to ensure compliance with state and federal pension regulations.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources department to assist in the onboarding and retirement planning processes.
- Maintain and update pension plan records within our secure state database systems.
- Assist in the preparation of reports for state auditors and legislative bodies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial science, or government benefits management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions.
- Strong understanding of ERISA regulations and state retirement system protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with the public.
- Ability to manage sensitive financial data with the highest level of confidentiality.
