Responsibilities
- Collect residential and commercial waste according to city schedules and safety protocols
- Operate sanitation trucks and specialized equipment with proper certification
- Perform routine maintenance on sanitation vehicles and tools
- Identify and report hazardous materials or infrastructure issues
- Assist with emergency cleanup operations during weather events
- Maintain accurate service logs and route documentation
- Adhere to all OSHA and municipal safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana driver's license (Class B CDL preferred but not required)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass background check and pre-employment physical
- Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- Strong work ethic and commitment to public service
