Responsibilities
- Operate heavy municipal vehicles, including garbage trucks and recycling trucks, following all safety protocols.
- Collect residential and commercial waste, recyclables, and yard debris from designated routes.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure mechanical safety and functionality.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding route issues, traffic hazards, or equipment malfunctions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist in snow removal and emergency response duties during severe weather events.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class C) with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Physically fit and capable of performing heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) and standing for extended periods.
- Basic knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
