Responsibilities
- Oversee all city council meeting documentation, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and ordinance management
- Manage official public records archives ensuring compliance with Texas open records laws
- Administer municipal elections and voter registration processes with precision
- Coordinate interdepartmental communications for legislative initiatives
- Develop and maintain digital record-keeping systems for enhanced accessibility
- Serve as primary liaison between city officials and the public for information requests
- Implement records retention policies and digitization projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government or public records management experience
- Advanced proficiency in municipal record-keeping systems (e.g., Tyler Technologies)
- Thorough knowledge of Texas Local Government Code Chapter 551
- Exceptional written communication skills for legal document drafting
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Experience managing public records digitization projects
