Responsibilities
- Records Management: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and archiving of all official city records, ordinances, resolutions, and meeting minutes with the highest degree of accuracy.
- Meeting Administration: Prepare and distribute meeting packets, agendas, and supporting materials for the City Council and various commissions; take and distribute official minutes.
- Compliance & Research: Conduct research on state and local laws to ensure the City's actions are legally sound and compliant with open meeting acts and public record laws.
- Public Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for the public regarding information requests, ensuring transparency and timely service delivery.
- Process Improvement: Develop and implement streamlined clerical processes to enhance efficiency in the City Clerk's office.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business, or Paralegal studies is strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of experience in a municipal or government clerical role, or equivalent administrative experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to review complex documents and data for errors before dissemination.
- Communication: Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with elected officials and the public.
