Responsibilities
- Lead vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for state networks
- Develop incident response protocols and coordinate breach mitigation
- Monitor security tools (SIEM, EDR) and analyze threat intelligence
- Implement zero-trust architecture and access controls
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and Texas state regulations
- Collaborate with federal partners on threat intelligence sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of cybersecurity experience in government or regulated industry
- CISSP, CISM, or CEH certification required
- Expertise in cloud security (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and system hardening
- Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Ability to obtain Texas security clearance
- Proven incident response leadership
