Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the County's enterprise server infrastructure, including Windows and Linux environments.
- Provide 24/7 Level 3 support for critical systems, troubleshooting complex hardware and software issues.
- Oversee network security protocols, ensuring compliance with state and federal data protection regulations.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud resources (e.g., AWS, Azure).
- Automate routine administrative tasks using scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess technology needs and recommend scalable solutions.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure high availability and reliability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Systems Administration or IT Support roles.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Exchange.
- Proficiency in Linux administration and shell scripting (Bash/Python).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or VMware VCP are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of network concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
