Responsibilities
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide cybersecurity strategies and policies
- Lead incident response activities including threat hunting and forensic analysis
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on state systems
- Coordinate security awareness training for state employees
- Manage security technologies including SIEM, EDR, and encryption solutions
- Collaborate with federal agencies on threat intelligence sharing
- Ensure compliance with NIST, FISMA, and California security standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, IT, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years in cybersecurity with 3+ years in government or regulated industries
- CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in threat detection, incident response, and risk assessment
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and network architecture
- Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical concepts
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
