Responsibilities
- Design and implement county-wide waste reduction and recycling programs
- Conduct environmental compliance audits for industrial and commercial facilities
- Lead public outreach campaigns on sustainability best practices
- Analyze environmental data to develop policy recommendations
- Manage grant applications and reporting for environmental initiatives
- Coordinate with state agencies on regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior staff and interns on environmental methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in environmental program management
- Strong knowledge of NC environmental regulations
- Certified Recycling Professional (CRP) or equivalent preferred
- Advanced data analysis and reporting skills
- Experience with GIS mapping and environmental software
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Valid NC driver's license
