Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end administration of federal pension plans, including FERS and CSRS calculations and disbursements.
- Analyze complex employee data to ensure accurate retirement benefit projections and determinations.
- Conduct internal and external audits to ensure strict adherence to OPM regulations and agency policies.
- Provide expert guidance and consultation to federal employees and supervisors regarding retirement eligibility and benefit options.
- Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to navigate complex legislative changes affecting federal pensions.
- Maintain and update internal databases and documentation to ensure data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- 5+ years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or actuarial science.
- Deep understanding of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS).
- Strong knowledge of OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and guidelines.
- Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) and database management software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
