Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily administration and calculation of Federal Employee Retirement System (FERS) and Civil Service Retirement System (CSRS) benefits.
- Analyze complex pension data and resolve discrepancies in beneficiary accounts with a 99% accuracy rate.
- Ensure strict compliance with Office of Personnel Management (OPM) regulations and federal labor laws.
- Conduct internal audits of pension records and provide detailed reporting to senior management.
- Assist federal employees with inquiries regarding retirement eligibility, pension estimates, and survivor benefits.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to update pension plan documentation and policy interpretations.
- Train junior staff on pension calculation methodologies and software systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in pension administration, benefits management, or federal payroll processing.
- Deep understanding of FERS, CSRS, Thrift Savings Plans (TSP), and federal retirement laws.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and specialized pension administration software.
- Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in financial data.
- Ability to manage sensitive employee data with the highest level of confidentiality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
