Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage critical IT infrastructure systems during night shift hours to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Respond to and resolve escalated technical incidents and system anomalies with minimal supervision.
- Implement and enforce strict federal security protocols and compliance standards (NIST).
- Perform regular system backups, patch management, and hardware maintenance during low-traffic windows.
- Collaborate with day-shift teams to document issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Must be available to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 10 PM - 6 AM or similar).
- Understanding of federal regulations and data privacy laws (e.g., FERPA, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Network+, or CISSP are highly preferred.
