The Role:
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of secure IT systems supporting federal clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with federal regulations and security standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain complex IT infrastructure solutions for federal clients, ensuring high availability and security.
- Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to optimize operational efficiency.
- Implement and monitor security protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems, to protect sensitive data.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions on time.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with NIST standards, FISMA, and agency-specific security policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Active Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain).
- 3+ years of experience in federal IT systems engineering, network architecture, or cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
