Responsibilities
- Analyze county budgets, expenditures, and revenue streams for strategic financial planning
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and forecasts for county commissioners
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, state regulations, and federal grant requirements
- Collaborate with department heads on cost-saving initiatives and operational efficiencies
- Manage grant applications and monitor compliance for federal/state funding
- Develop financial models for capital projects and long-term financial sustainability
- Lead process improvements in financial reporting systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive financial analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or CPA designation preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, and financial reporting software
- Deep understanding of Florida public finance regulations and procurement laws
- Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for stakeholder presentations
