Responsibilities
- Analyze complex financial data to support budget development and fiscal forecasting
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports for city council and department heads
- Manage grant compliance and ensure adherence to federal/state regulations
- Lead process improvements in financial reporting systems
- Collaborate with auditors during annual compliance reviews
- Maintain accurate fixed asset records and depreciation schedules
- Train staff on financial policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 5+ years of government or municipal finance experience
- CPA or CMA certification preferred
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial software (e.g., Oracle ERP)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with governmental accounting standards (GASB)
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
