Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain GIS Systems: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise GIS applications using Esri ArcGIS Suite (ArcGIS Pro, Server, and Online) and Python.
- Spatial Data Analysis: Conduct complex spatial analyses, map projections, and geoprocessing workflows to support county planning and emergency response efforts.
- Web Mapping Solutions: Create interactive web maps and web services using JavaScript and web development frameworks to improve data accessibility for county departments.
- Data Management: Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of large-scale geodatabases and spatial datasets.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, urban planners, and public safety officials to translate data needs into technical solutions.
- Documentation: Produce high-quality technical documentation, data standards, and user manuals.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Computer Science, Urban Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, software development, or database administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Esri ArcGIS (Desktop, Server, Online), Python (Pyramid, ArcPy), SQL, and JavaScript.
- System Knowledge: Experience with geodatabase management, data conversion, and spatial statistics.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical data to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
