Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Projects: Direct the planning, execution, and closure of complex IT projects within the government framework, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure Compliance: meticulously adhere to state procurement laws, federal standards, and government security protocols (FISMA, etc.).
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, department heads, and external vendors to manage expectations and deliverables.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies to prevent project delays.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of project management experience, specifically within the government or public sector environment.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle), Agile methodologies, and legacy government systems.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
