Responsibilities
- Administer and process pension benefit calculations for active and retired employees with high accuracy.
- Conduct actuarial calculations and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual pension reports.
- Ensure strict compliance with state retirement laws, IRS regulations, and internal government policies.
- Provide expert consultation to employees and retirees regarding eligibility, vesting, and benefit projections.
- Review and reconcile pension fund accounts, maintaining detailed audit trails.
- Collaborate with the finance and legal departments to address complex retirement inquiries and disputes.
- Train junior staff and assist in the implementation of new pension system updates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension administration, actuarial science, or government benefits management.
- Professional certification (e.g., CFP, CAIA, or state-specific pension certification) is highly preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables) and pension administration software.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with the public and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
