Responsibilities
- Lead the development and review of local government policies, ensuring alignment with UK national legislation and regional strategies.
- Analyze complex data and stakeholder feedback to provide evidence-based recommendations to council leadership.
- Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives to ensure cohesive implementation of government programs.
- Represent the council in inter-agency meetings and public forums, effectively communicating policy objectives.
- Monitor legislative changes at the UK level and assess their potential impact on local operations.
- Maintain accurate records of policy drafts, amendments, and final approvals in accordance with government standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public administration, policy analysis, or a relevant field within the UK government sector.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
- Deep understanding of UK government structures, local governance processes, and statutory regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legislation and translate it into actionable strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-level reports and presentations.
- Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution.
