Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research and data analysis to evaluate the efficacy of existing municipal policies and recommend evidence-based improvements.
- Prepare high-level briefing materials, policy memos, and legislative recommendations for senior city officials and the City Council.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, finance, and community stakeholders, to ensure alignment on strategic objectives.
- Monitor and assess state and federal legislative changes to identify potential impacts on Philadelphia’s local operations.
- Facilitate public workshops and stakeholder meetings to gather community feedback and communicate complex policy concepts.
- Oversee the development and implementation of government compliance programs and internal training initiatives.
- Represent the department at external conferences and professional networks to enhance the city's reputation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in government, public policy, or a related non-profit sector.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
- Deep understanding of Philadelphia’s regulatory landscape and municipal government structure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information for diverse audiences.
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification in Project Management (PMP) or similar is a strong plus.
