Responsibilities
- Develop and submit high-impact grant proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Conduct thorough research to identify funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Collaborate with program staff to gather compelling project narratives and financial data
- Manage complex grant application processes with strict deadlines and compliance requirements
- Cultivate relationships with funders through professional communication and reporting
- Maintain accurate grant databases and reporting systems
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in grant development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured annually
- Proven track record with federal, state, and private foundation grants
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with attention to detail
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and program evaluation
- Experience working with nonprofit or community-based organizations
- Proficiency in CRM and grant management software
- Demonstrated commitment to Oakland's community development
