Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission
- Develop persuasive grant proposals with compelling narratives and detailed budgets
- Build and maintain relationships with foundation representatives and funding partners
- Collaborate with program teams to gather impact data and success stories
- Manage grant compliance reporting and stewardship communications
- Maintain accurate grant pipeline tracking in Salesforce CRM
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured
- Proven success securing federal (SAM.gov) and foundation grants
- Expertise in developing complex program budgets and financial narratives
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio of funded proposals
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
- Knowledge of Virginia Beach philanthropic landscape
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment
