Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private foundation grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documents
- Collaborate with program teams to develop compelling narratives and measurable outcomes
- Manage grant reporting requirements and maintain accurate funder databases
- Build relationships with foundation program officers and represent organization at funder meetings
- Stay current on healthcare funding trends and policy changes affecting New Mexico
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and compliance standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Public Health, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with healthcare or nonprofit organizations
- Proven track record of securing $1M+ in annual grant funding
- Expertise with federal grant applications (HRSA, SAMHSA, CDC) and foundation proposals
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with attention to detail and compliance standards
- Strong analytical abilities for budget development and outcome measurement
- Experience with grant management databases (e.g., GrantStation, Instrumentl)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
