Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from federal agencies, foundations, and corporate sponsors
- Develop compelling grant proposals tailored to specific funder priorities and requirements
- Craft persuasive narratives demonstrating program impact, budget alignment, and measurable outcomes
- Manage grant reporting requirements and maintain accurate grant databases
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data and refine funding strategies
- Represent the organization at funder meetings and networking events
- Stay current on funding trends, policy changes, and competitive landscapes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, Environmental Science) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with proven success securing $1M+ annually
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio demonstrating persuasive grant proposals
- Strong research abilities and knowledge of Hawaii's nonprofit/funding landscape
- Experience managing grant budgets and reporting requirements
- Proficiency in grant management software (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, GrantStation)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
