Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, private foundation, and corporate grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop compelling grant proposals, budgets, and reports exceeding $1M annually
- Cultivate relationships with program officers and funding partners
- Collaborate with department heads to translate complex medical programs into fundable narratives
- Manage grant pipeline and compliance documentation
- Mentor junior staff on grant development best practices
- Analyze funding trends and adapt strategies accordingly
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of proven grant writing success with $5M+ secured
- Portfolio demonstrating wins in healthcare/medical research funding
- Expertise with federal (HRSA, NIH) and California state grant processes
- Advanced analytical skills for budget development and impact metrics
- Exceptional storytelling ability with persuasive writing samples
- Proficiency in grant management systems (e.g., GrantStation, Salesforce NPSP)
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment
