Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, government agencies, and corporate partners aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents tailored to each funder's requirements
- Collaborate with program staff to gather accurate data and impact metrics for proposal narratives
- Manage a diverse portfolio of grants with strict deadlines, ensuring timely submission and compliance
- Maintain accurate records in grant management databases and prepare progress reports for funders
- Stay current on funding trends, policy changes, and competitive landscapes in the philanthropic sector
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in grant writing and research methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of professional grant writing experience with a proven track record of securing $500K+ annually
- Demonstrated success with federal, state, and foundation grants in education, healthcare, or community development
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, Little Green Light)
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and financial reporting in grant proposals
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
