Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies aligned with organizational priorities
- Develop and write high-quality, persuasive grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports that articulate community needs and program impact
- Manage a portfolio of 15-20 active grants, ensuring timely submissions, compliance, and reporting requirements
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with funding partners through regular communication and stewardship activities
- Analyze funding trends and develop strategic funding plans to support organizational growth
- Collaborate with program staff to gather data, success stories, and budget information for compelling proposals
- Maintain accurate grant tracking systems and prepare monthly progress reports for leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience with proven success securing $500,000+ annually
- Demonstrated ability to research and identify diverse funding sources (government, foundation, corporate)
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex programs into compelling narratives
- Experience with budget development and financial reporting for grant proposals
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and grant compliance requirements
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and grant management software
