Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations
- Develop compelling grant proposals that align with organizational mission and funder priorities
- Collaborate with program staff to gather impact data and program narratives
- Manage grant application pipeline and ensure timely submission of all materials
- Build and maintain relationships with current and potential funding partners
- Track grant outcomes and prepare comprehensive reports for funders
- Maintain accurate records of grant activities in CRM database
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (English, Communications, Nonprofit Management)
- 5+ years of proven grant writing experience in nonprofit sector
- Track record of securing $500K+ annually in diverse funding streams
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with portfolio of successful proposals
- Deep knowledge of Portland-area funding landscape and philanthropic trends
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., GrantStation, Salesforce)
- Ability to translate complex programs into compelling narratives
- Strong project management skills with attention to deadlines
