Responsibilities
- Research, identify, and pursue federal, state, and private foundation grant opportunities aligned with our strategic priorities
- Develop and write high-impact grant proposals, budgets, and reports with 95%+ funding success rate
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with 50+ foundation partners and program officers
- Collaborate with program directors to translate technical initiatives into compelling narratives
- Manage grant pipeline using Salesforce and maintain 100% accurate compliance documentation
- Mentor junior staff on grant writing best practices and proposal development
- Analyze funding trends and provide strategic recommendations to leadership team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured annually
- Proven success with federal grants (SAM.gov registration) and private foundations
- Expertise in budget development for complex multi-year grants
- Exceptional writing skills with portfolio of 10+ funded proposals
- Advanced proficiency in Salesforce CRM and grant management software
- Deep knowledge of Kansas City philanthropic landscape
- CFRE credential or willingness to obtain within 18 months
