Responsibilities
- Research and identify grant opportunities from federal agencies, private foundations, and corporate sponsors
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documents aligned with funder priorities
- Cultivate relationships with program officers and stakeholders to strengthen funding partnerships
- Manage a portfolio of 15-20 active grants with rigorous reporting and compliance tracking
- Collaborate with program teams to translate complex initiatives into compelling funding requests
- Maintain accurate grant databases and ensure timely submission of all materials
- Stay current on funding trends and policy changes affecting Maryland nonprofits
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field (Communications, Nonprofit Management, English) or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured funding track record
- Proven success with federal, state, and foundation grant applications
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with ability to simplify complex data
- Proficiency in grant management systems (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, GrantHub)
- Deep knowledge of Baltimore's nonprofit landscape and funding priorities
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and program impact metrics
- Remote work experience with demonstrated self-management capabilities
