Responsibilities
- Research and identify relevant grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
- Develop and write persuasive grant proposals, budgets, and reports tailored to specific funders
- Collaborate with program staff to gather project information and impact data
- Manage grant application timelines and ensure submission deadlines are met
- Maintain accurate records of grant applications and funding outcomes
- Build relationships with current and potential funders
- Provide guidance on grant compliance and reporting requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 3+ years of professional grant writing experience
- Proven track record securing $500K+ in annual grant funding
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to detail
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Experience with nonprofit financial management and budget development
- Familiarity with Detroit's philanthropic landscape preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
