Responsibilities
- Research and identify strategic grant opportunities aligned with organizational mission and community needs
- Develop persuasive grant proposals, applications, and supporting documents tailored to diverse funders
- Collaborate with program directors to gather impact data and craft compelling case statements
- Manage grant portfolio including reporting, compliance, and relationship stewardship
- Analyze funding trends and maintain comprehensive grant database
- Mentor junior staff on best practices in grant development and compliance
- Coordinate with finance team to ensure accurate budget narratives and financial reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 5+ years of professional grant writing experience with 501(c)(3) organizations
- Proven track record of securing $500k+ annually in diverse grant funding
- Expertise in researching and applying to federal, state, and private foundation grants
- Exceptional writing/editing skills with ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives
- Proficiency with grant management software (e.g., GrantStation, Instrumentl)
- Strong project management skills with ability to meet multiple deadlines
- Knowledge of San Antonio's nonprofit landscape and community priorities
