Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise-level security architectures.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities.
- Oversee incident response protocols and coordinate with federal and state agencies during cybersecurity events.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including NIST, HIPAA, and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
- Develop and deliver security training programs for government staff to foster a culture of security awareness.
- Manage vendor relationships and security third-party risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification such as CISSP, CISM, or Security+ is strongly required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in information security engineering or network security.
- Strong proficiency with cloud security platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Deep knowledge of SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
