Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and implementation of advanced cybersecurity measures and network infrastructure for federal agencies.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and security audits to identify vulnerabilities and mitigate threats proactively.
- Oversee the configuration and management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Manage the lifecycle of IT projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget using Agile methodologies.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and cross-functional teams on best practices for secure coding and system administration.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal laws, regulations, and agency policies regarding information security and data privacy.
- Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to negotiate contracts and resolve complex technical issues.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with favorable adjudication is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in federal IT environments, with at least 2 years in a leadership or senior specialist capacity.
- Certification such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of federal information security frameworks, including FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP.
- Proven experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and virtualization platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
