Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex information technology systems and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with state cybersecurity standards, data privacy laws, and federal regulations (HIPAA, FISMA).
- Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing technical guidance and professional development.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
- Manage software licensing, vendor relationships, and budget allocation for IT projects.
- Conduct regular system audits and security assessments to mitigate risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent years of experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration, networking, or cybersecurity.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a Texas State Employee Identification Card and pass a background investigation.
