Job Summary
The Senior Information Technology Specialist will be responsible for the planning, development, and management of enterprise-level IT solutions. You will ensure system security, optimize network performance, and lead technical initiatives that support the City's strategic goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity protocols to protect sensitive government data and infrastructure.
- Design, deploy, and troubleshoot cloud-based solutions and on-premise hardware.
- Conduct system performance analysis and recommend upgrades to enhance operational efficiency.
- Lead technical project teams and coordinate with external vendors for system integration.
- Provide advanced technical support and training to internal staff and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or Cisco CCNP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware architecture, and cloud services (AWS/Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced government environment.
- Valid Driver’s License required for occasional site visits.
