Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from initiation through closure, ensuring strict alignment with strategic city goals and departmental objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, timeline, budget, and resource allocation, utilizing advanced project management methodologies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively to ensure successful delivery and minimal downtime.
- Facilitate effective communication among cross-functional teams, government agencies, and external vendors to maintain transparency and alignment.
- Monitor project performance using appropriate metrics and reporting tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) to ensure milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Ensure strict compliance with all applicable city ordinances, state regulations, and federal guidelines.
- Mentor junior project managers and contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes within the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in IT project management within a government, municipal, or large enterprise environment.
- Strong expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies with a proven track record of successful implementations.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale technology implementations and infrastructure projects.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
