Responsibilities
- Lead and Manage Projects: Direct the full lifecycle of IT projects from initiation through closure, ensuring they meet scope, time, and budget constraints.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with city departments, vendors, and senior leadership to define project requirements and communicate progress effectively.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and success.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets and allocate resources efficiently across cross-functional teams.
- Process Improvement: Implement Agile and Waterfall methodologies to streamline workflows and increase team productivity.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to federal, state, and local government regulations and internal standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the IT sector, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Asana) and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Power BI).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Government Experience: Experience working within a municipal or state government environment is a strong plus.
