Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end IT project lifecycles from initiation through closure, ensuring alignment with state standards and agency goals.
- Manage project budgets, resources, and timelines to deliver high-quality solutions on schedule and within scope.
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between technical teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with complex government initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with New York State procurement policies and IT governance frameworks.
- Communicate project status, milestones, and challenges to senior management on a regular basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management, preferably within the public sector or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is required.
- Expertise in Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar project management tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
